I found this inciteful:

"A race is a biological subspecies , or variety of a species, consisting of a more or less distinct population with anatomical traits that distinguish it clearly from other races. This biologist's definition does not fit the reality of human genetic variation today. We are an extremely homogenous species genetically. As a matter of fact, all humans today are 99.9% genetically identical, and most of the variation that does occur is in the difference between males and females and our unique personal traits. This homogeneity is very unusual in the animal kingdom. Even our closest biological relatives, the chimpanzees have 2-3 times more genetic variation than people. Orangutans have 8-10 times more variation.

It is now clear that our human "races" are primarily cultural creations, not biological realities. The commonly held belief in the existence of human biological races is based on the false assumption that anatomical traits, such as skin color and specific facial characteristics, cluster together in single distinct groups of people. They do not. There are no clearly distinct "black", "white", or other races."

"In the final analysis, it is clear that people, not nature, create our identities. Ethnicity and supposed "racial" groups are largely cultural and historical constructs. They are primarily social rather than biological phenomena. This does not mean that they do not exist. To the contrary, "races" are very real in the world today. In order to understand them, however, we must look into culture and social interaction rather than biology."

Phyllis,
First off...thanks for visiting here...I appreciate it.

If you say that there is more than one race, I'd challenge you to explain it to me...aren't we all decendents of Noah and his family?

Isn't that the common point of origin for us?

If you mean though, that you take exception to my statement that their is only one race to justify hatred based on differences such as skin color, or other things, then I'd say you're dead wrong.

If you are saying that Pastor Jeremiah is fine in being a huge racist, bigot, and that God is backing this guy up 100%....I'd say that you don't read that bible closely enough...because God chose to do certain things throughout Jewish history for His purposes, doesn't mean that we draw a "faith rule" for ourselves forever....

God also had people slaugher others...are you suggesting that when I murder my whole neighborhood, that God is behind that 100% also?

Thats your logic....

I don't think you want to say that do you?

Dear brother, I'm afraid your comment that "there is only one race" is unscriptural and wrong.

You should read the following as it is VERY important:
http://docsouth.unc.edu/church/string/string.html

Again, God ordained, as law-giver to Israel, that their captives taken in war should be enslaved.--Deut. xx: 10 to 15.

Again, God enacted that the Israelites should buy slaves of the heathen nations around them, and will them and their increase as property to their children forever.--Lev. xxv: 44, 45, 46. All these nations were made of one blood. Yet God ordained that some should be "chattel" slaves to others, and gave his special aid to effect it. In view of this incontrovertible fact, how can I believe this passage disproves the lawfulness of slavery in the sight of God? How can any sane man believe it, who believes the Bible?
